Figure Paintings are all done “Alla Prima,” which means to start and finish all in one sitting.
From times of old to modern times figure paintings are important to artists. To truly understand how the human figure works it is necessary to see it without any coverings.
Courtney has taken this idea and made it his own style, leaving very bright and fresh looking paintings. By making use of bright color combinations in this series these paintings are enjoyable to view and non-offensive.
Courtney has also included the artist’s environment into the background, giving the viewer more to focus on.
